The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen (17) police officers, including two senior officers, in recognition of their exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The promotions were effected on January 14, 2026, as part of efforts by the Ghana Police Service to reward outstanding performance and motivate officers who consistently demonstrate commitment, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Service noted that the promoted officers distinguished themselves through operational excellence and unwavering dedication to national service.

Congratulating the officers, IGP Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), described the promotions as both recognition and responsibility.
They urged the officers to view their elevation as a call to higher standards of leadership, accountability, and service to the public.
The IGP further encouraged all personnel of the Ghana Police Service to remain professional, loyal, and committed to duty, emphasizing that merit-based recognition remains a key pillar in building a motivated and effective police service.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to identifying, recognising, and rewarding excellence, stressing that such initiatives are essential to boosting morale and strengthening policing across the country.
