The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has called for heightened security measures at court facilities after a violent incident at the Kwame Danso District Court, describing the attack as a grave threat to Ghana’s justice system.
In a statement on Thursday, December 12, JUSAG condemned the actions of unknown assailants who vandalised court property and disrupted judicial proceedings.
The association labelled the attack “barbaric, unacceptable, and a serious threat to the administration of justice,” stressing that such incidents endanger both court personnel and the delivery of justice.

“The attack on the Kwame Danso Court is not just an attack on a building, it is an attack on the justice system of Ghana,” said Samuel Afotey Otu, National President and Chairman of the National Executive Council of JUSAG.
The association urged the Ghana Police Service to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice promptly.
It also appealed to the government to enhance security at court facilities across the country to ensure the protection of judicial officers and staff.
JUSAG warned that if such attacks continue without accountability, it may advise members to withdraw services from unsafe jurisdictions.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and called on civil society, the media, and all citizens to help safeguard the judiciary.
