Abankesieso, C/R. The newly enstooled Denkyirahene, Odeefo Boa Amponsem IV, on Thursday exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries, chiefs, and invited guests at a colourful durbar held at Abankesieso, the traditional capital of Denkyira, to finalise his installation.
The event, which drew hundreds of residents and visitors from across the country, marked a significant moment in the history of the Denkyira Traditional Area, showcasing the kingdom’s rich culture and unity.
Amid vibrant drumming, traditional dancing, and chants of appellations, the Denkyirahene was ushered to the durbar grounds, where he greeted dignitaries who had gathered to honour his ascension to the stool.

Among those in attendance were paramount, divisional and sub-chiefs, government officials, religious leaders, security agency representatives, and executives of corporate institutions who extended their congratulations to the new king.
Notable among the guests was Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the immediate past Vice President of Ghana, who joined the gathering to pay homage.
Clad in regal black kente, Odeefo Boa Amponsem IV moved gracefully along the dais, warmly exchanging smiles, handshakes, and traditional gestures of goodwill with guests. The atmosphere was one of respect, laughter, and cultural pride.
Representatives from the Central Regional House of Chiefs and traditional councils from neighbouring areas also paid homage, pledging their commitment to supporting Denkyira’s continued growth, peace, and development.
Cultural troupes added colour to the occasion with performances of traditional music, drumming, and dance, filling the durbar grounds with a spirit of celebration and unity.
The exchange of pleasantries at Abankesieso symbolised not only royal courtesy but also the enduring respect and cohesion that unite the people of Denkyira.
Speaking on behalf of the Media and Publicity Team, Mr Kofi Konadu of the University of Cape Coast Campus Broadcasting Services expressed appreciation for the overwhelming show of love and solidarity.
“We are deeply humbled by the support and presence of everyone here today,” Mr Konadu said. “Your goodwill strengthens our resolve to serve Denkyira with dedication, peace, and unity.”
