Nana Blay Miezah, the newly ordained chief priest of Miegyena, a farming community near Beyin in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region, has planted what he describes as an immovable sword at the centre of his spiritual and ancestral home — a symbol believed to embody the strength, soul, and unity of the people of Miegyena and, by extension, Jomoro.
The sword, according to Nana Blay Miezah, was planted under divine inspiration and ancestral guidance following deep communion with supernatural powers.
At a ceremony held to mark the act, Nana Blay Miezah who was the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the Jomoro Constituency, declared that the sword shared the same mystical nature as the legendary Komfo Anokye’s immovable sword in Kumasi.

Challenging sceptics to test its immovability, he invited members of the public and media present to attempt to uproot the sword. Despite several efforts, no one succeeded in moving it from the ground.
Addressing the gathering, Nana Blay Miezah clarified that his ordination as a traditional and spiritual priest did not grant him any chieftaincy authority or customary rights over the community. Instead, he said his calling was rooted in spiritual service and problem-solving through ancestral intervention.
“My intentions are very clean, and anybody who comes here with his or her problem will find a solution to it with the help of the spiritual powers through my ancestors,” he assured.
He further extended an invitation to tourists, traditionalists, and the general public to visit Miegyena to witness the mystical immovable sword, which he described as a divine symbol of heritage, unity, and enduring ancestral strength.
