The National Union of Tricycle Operators Ghana (NUTOG) has expressed profound condolences following the passing of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of Ghana, describing her death as a monumental loss to the nation.
In a statement signed by Mr Emmanuel Kwao Arku, NUTOG’s National Public Relations Officer, the organisation praised Madam Agyeman-Rawlings for her lifelong dedication to social justice, women’s empowerment, and children’s welfare, particularly through her work with the 31st December Women’s Movement.
“She was a true mother to the nation and a symbol of unity who believed in peace and progress. Her legacy should inspire Ghanaians to embrace the values of service, leadership, and commitment to humanity,” the statement read.
NUTOG highlighted her qualities of grace, humility, and compassion, noting that her charm, non-partisan attitude, and unifying spirit earned admiration across the country. Her contributions to national development, especially in uplifting women, were described as indelible in Ghana’s history.

The union also took the opportunity to advise its members to adhere to road safety and ethical conduct, emphasising the importance of professionalism, discipline, and respect in the tricycle transport sector.
“By living responsibly and conducting ourselves professionally, the NUTOG members will shame the naysayers who continue to look down on their work and prove that tricycle operators are responsible partners in Ghana’s development,” the statement noted.
NUTOG concluded by praying for strength and comfort for the Rawlings family and the nation, reaffirming its commitment to unity, safety, and responsible operations among tricycle operators in Ghana.
