Sampa (Bono Region), Oct. 23. The Bono Regional Police Command has assured teachers and pupils in Sampa, Jaman North District, of their full protection and safety following recurring clashes linked to a long-standing chieftaincy dispute in the area.
A statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeela, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer, said the Police Command had visited several schools in the township to reassure staff and students of heightened security measures.
The engagement, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Andrews George Kumah, Deputy Bono Regional Police Commander, formed part of efforts to restore calm and maintain public confidence amid lingering tensions between rival traditional factions.

According to the statement, some teachers who had earlier applied for transfers due to safety concerns have decided to remain at their posts after the engagement, citing improved police presence and visibility in the community.
The command urged residents to cooperate with the police and view officers as partners in maintaining peace and security. It further appealed to the public to avoid spreading false information about the dispute on social media, stressing that such actions could inflame tensions.
“All schools visited expressed gratitude to the police for the engagement and encouraged the command to continue similar outreach activities to promote peace and social cohesion,” the statement added.
