Police in Berekum in the Bono Region have retrieved the lifeless body of a young man near a filling station at Nyamebekyere, a suburb of the municipality.
The deceased, popularly known in the area as “Oboshie,” was found behind a food vending container in the early hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2025. His body has since been deposited at the Berekum Holy Family Catholic Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
A police source confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), indicating that investigations had begun to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

During a visit to the scene, some residents told the GNA they suspected foul play, claiming the deceased had allegedly been involved in petty theft and other criminal activities in the community.
Police have appealed to the public to remain calm as they work to uncover what led to the man’s death.
