Stanbic Bank Ghana‘s Affluent Banking Team, in collaboration with the Nneka Youth Foundation, has held a Business Leadership Forum at Mobole D/A Basic School in the Ningo-Prampram District to promote leadership, innovation, and financial independence among students, parents, and community members.
Leading the initiative, the Head of Affluent Banking at Stanbic Bank, Margaret Obimpeh, said the programme was part of the bank’s commitment to building a financially empowered generation. “At Stanbic, our purpose is anchored in the belief that Ghana is our home, and we are committed to driving her growth. By nurturing the right habits early, we’re giving the next generation tools that will last a lifetime,” she noted.
Parents who participated in the forum praised the bank’s initiative, with one saying, “This initiative shows that Stanbic Bank truly has us at heart.”

During a panel discussion, Christiana Asafo-Adjei, Manager for Client Experience at Stanbic Bank, underscored the importance of introducing financial literacy early in life. She urged parents to open trust accounts for their children and said financial education should begin long before adulthood. “Children can begin their financial journey with guidance and discipline, securing their future from an early age,” she stated.
She also introduced students to the 60-30-10 rule, a simple budgeting formula that encourages individuals to spend 60 percent of their income, save 30 percent, and give 10 percent to others. “This approach teaches responsibility, builds security, and fosters generosity,” she explained.
Abdul Ahmed Mugiss, Business Development Manager for Affluent Clients, spoke on innovation and sustainability in business, urging participants to prioritise customer needs and adapt to changing environments. “A sustainable business evolves with time. Innovation and client feedback are key to long-term success,” he advised.
Touching on leadership, Executive Banker Jonas Tetteh Kugblenu encouraged students to pursue excellence and lead with integrity. “True leadership is not about authority – it is about service, integrity, and sound decision-making,” he said.
The event also featured breakout sessions where the Stanbic team engaged parents and students in smaller groups, sharing practical advice on savings and investments in relatable and easy-to-understand ways.
To climax the event, Stanbic Bank’s Affluent Banking Team donated GHS 20,000 to the Nneka Youth Foundation to support its 2026 Youth Camp in Ve Agbome, Volta Region. Presenting the donation, Mrs Obimpeh commended the foundation’s commitment to youth development. “Madam Cecilia Fiaka and her team have shown remarkable courage and dedication. This is about transforming lives, not just giving financial support,” she said.
Founder of the Nneka Youth Foundation, Cecilia Fiaka, expressed gratitude for the support and long-standing partnership. “Stanbic Bank has stood by us since 2012. This contribution will directly impact the lives of young people, just as we envisioned,” she said.
Parents and community members expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a genuine effort to uplift the community. “Stanbic Bank has shown that they truly care about our community,” one parent remarked.
