Mr. Vincent Antwi Agyei, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), together with Mr. Seid Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East, has cut the sod for the commencement of three development projects in selected communities within the Sunyani Municipality.
The beneficiary communities, Yawhima, Baakoniaba and Kurosua No. 2, will receive a three-unit classroom block at the African Faith Basic School, a health Centre at Baakoniaba, and a CHPS compound with a nurse’s accommodation and a mechanized borehole at Kurosua No. 2.
The projects, funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), were selected based on community needs assessments and are expected to be completed within eight months.

Speaking at separate ceremonies during the sod-cutting events, Mr. Agyei emphasised that the welfare of the people remained a top priority.
“It is time to enhance the development of Sunyani and its surrounding communities with all possible means to alleviate the plight of the people,” he stated.
Mr. Agyei expressed optimism that the school project would improve teaching and learning, while the health centre and CHPS compound would address the immediate health needs of the people. He added that funds for the projects were readily available to avoid delays.
Mr. Mubarak, MP for Sunyani East, assured residents of more infrastructural development and announced the commencement of a 10-kilometre town road project to benefit Yawhima, Baakoniaba, Abesim and Kotokrom.
