DBS Industries Limited, a roofing and construction company, has assisted in renovating the pergola project at the Sunyani Central Prisons canteen, enhancing the facility’s functionality and appearance. The upgraded pergola now serves as a VIP lounge, providing shade, seating, and a dignified space for visitors.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Mrs Paulina Sarpong, Sunyani Branch Manager of DBS Industries Limited, said the company remained committed to supporting relevant institutions through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. “As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we are proud to contribute towards improving facilities at the central prisons,” she stated.
Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Emmanuel Yeboah Afful expressed gratitude to DBS Industries for the support, highlighting that the renovated facility would not only beautify the canteen environment but also provide additional seating for both officers and visitors. He noted that the upgrade forms part of the Think Prisons 360 Degrees initiative, aimed at rebranding and improving the welfare of officers, while contributing to the prison’s internally generated funds.
